Thailand ranks 30th in worlds cuisine WTF??
Re: Thailand ranks 30th in worlds cuisine WTF??
If I was French (perish the thought) I would be seriously offended that a French word was used to describe the food that is served up in the US.Ghostwriter wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 2:53 am Usa before France, says a lot about the credibility (credule debility) of that chart

Chicago deep dish pizza

Chesapeake bay crabs ( hard and soft shell)
New England clam chowder with fresh sour dough bread
Taco trucks in Ca...
Ribs. Is that it? Just ribs? Ribs of what beast?
Lobsters and crabs are everywhere, you can't claim them as being American just because you put a place name with them.
Clam chowder is just soup and done better in many parts of the world (especially France).
As for American pizza, unless you want one the size of a truck tyre, with two kilos of plastic cheese on it and that needs two people to carry it, then I wouldn't be hailing that as American haute cuisine.

There's no place name for the main lobsters.

Have some respect for the readers and use a spell checker if you are semi-literate.

Thai food works for me, here in Bangkok I usually have Thai food for lunch and then something else for dinner. Variety is the spice of life.
That being said, I would say the same about the local food in most countries I've been to. I don't really get why some people are excited about Thai food, most of it is alright but hardly inspired. And some of the best or most popular Thai dishes aren't really Thai anyway, but ripped off from elsewhere.
