Visa extension at Department of Immigration PP

Hey guys,

I went to extend my T Visa on the 28th of December. They kept my passport and said I could come back and pick up my stamped passport on Jan the 4th. Which means today.

I have 2 questions.
One: Is it normal that they keep your passport for so long?
Two: Because I have plans today, I am not sure if I can make it. I think they said yi could pick it up today or any day after Jan4. Does anyone know if I have to go today, or if I could also go tomorrow or the day after and be OK?

Yes, an extension of an ordinary visa can take up to three weeks. Faster turnaround times would void the profitable 'fast lanes'.
