If your friend is in a job paying over $3k (roughly) then 20% is the correct rate.

They would pay a blended rate, I.e. they would pay 15% on dollars 2.5k to 3k and 20% on dollars 3,001 and up. I just made up the 2.5k level for example purposes, didn’t calculate actual

Non resident is 20%

Resident is tiered from 0 to 20%

If he has lived in the country then he is resident and therefore tiered

Do you know by any chance what the tiers, breakpoints are?

So if you earn $2050 a month you pay $205 but if you earn $2055 its $308. Good to know.

Nah, you go through the stages so you would only pay $1 more

Also, obviously based on riel, so the tax paid each month will be slightly different

Pretty sure the different rates are charged on the different portions, so the 15% rate only applies to however much above $2050 you earn

Most large accountancy firms will give you a free 'welcome meeting' for 15-30 minutes so it's not very costly to find the correct legal answers.
Would you have any names or details of such firms that are reputable and reliable?
I used PWC back in the days, they offered the first 30 minutes free of charge.
