I have lived in China for a few years and left 2007. The air pollution in most cities was already incredibile back then (and not sure it has improved since). When I left I thought there would be millions of respiratory related issues (and deaths) in the the future. Covid could have a much greater impact in those already heavily attacked lungs.

Yes tied into the 35k house being developed on the Bokor concession - I never could work out where these buyers would come from as the climate is woeful and there is no employment options there. But throw in a huge market, 10ha organic/hydro vegie farm, organic free range poultry/pig/sheep, 4 golf courses, 5 lakes, 3 casinos, zipline and recreational parks, etc etc and sell a 3 bedroom villa in a cool climate exotic location to ppl living in highrise 30m2 apartments in HK/S'pore/KL/BKG/ Hanoi/HCMC/Taipei/G'zhou/ etc for a 3-4 hour flight and a property for less than 100k? Thats his market and it makes sense only if you have an International airport ala PQ. Khmer alone wont be economic but that model is.

That airport will never happen. Kampot/Bokor and Kep area is way too small for a regional airport. But Sihanoukville airport would be only 1-1,5 hours away if they would fix the road and widen it same way as they did NR3 from Phnom Penh.

KLers already have their own Bokor, Genting Highlands. Under hour from KL. The area development actually have similar background to modern days Bokor. When the Genting started to develop everybody said the developer is stupid, who would buy anything from there. Now the property prices have actually skyrocketed, which is somewhat rare in SEA, and the place is packed every weekend.
