Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 7 am on December 26, 2022, a man's body was found at an abandoned car wash located in Thmey Village, Sangkat Dangkor, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh.He was found by a security guard lying in the car wash shed with a cut his neck open and a severed head. The guard also found a samurai sword nearby.

The security man went to the Dangkor police to report his finding, and police cordoned off the crime scene. The death appeared to be fairly recent, because the blood was still fresh and there was no stench or swelling when the body was discovered, and police believe that the man was killed by persons unknown. The scientific and technical office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police and court doctors were then called in to search for clues and perform an autopsy.

Afterwards, the body was taken to the crematorium of Wat Russey Sanh, waiting for the victim to be identified in order to contact the family. Police say that the deceased is estimated to be over 30 years old, and was wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt with a samurai sword next to him. Dangkor police call on anyone with a missing relative or friend who fits this description to contact them for identification purposes.
A murder inquiry is underway.

There's around a 95% chance that the perpetrator, once arrested, has the tache of untrustworthiness on his upper lip

Well, in fairness, they do get much of the detail wrong in many reports. Attention to detail not being a strong point, locally.
For instance, samurai sword is often used to describe the less glamorous rusty, blunt, agricultural item often found to be the real weapon.
And
Autopsy. Being used to describe the crime scene attending medic giving the corpse a quick nudge and declaring lack of wind.

The bit that needs clarify is what constitutes ‘expert’?

Again, without prejudice, the media reports are not written by officials of the authorised departments so a version of understanding and creative journalism enters the social and fact finding enterprise that is the Khmer Times.
Responsible journalism at its best.
