Hahaha, maybe I chose the one dish they do badly. Or, as a German, Schnitzel means something different to me. And maybe I have a face that automatically pisses off every waitress.

Edelweiss near the FCC used to be good for schnitzels. Not fancy but solid, hausgemacht style.

Sadly these places have been replaced by harrylarry ersatz cuisine. And I don't expect much from the new place on the riverside with the neon English Café signage, although they may have bleedin' Watney's Red Barrel.

Couldn't agree more. Missing those quirky restaurants from 15 - 20 years ago. There was a German restaurant near Wat Phnom that was really quite good. Visited on my monthly visits when I worked in Chau Doc back in 2001 to 2004.

Noticed many of these same things three years ago and haven't been back there since. The staff in there at the time was hands down the worst and most rudest staff I've ever encountered anywhere unless some punter was buying them lady drinks. Really surprised the place survived Covid.

The only problem I had with the staff there is they would be massaging the same older sweaty heavyset gentleman every time. Didn’t help my appetite much and there was always a couple of them hovering around him instead of looking after other customers.
