Mandatory Drug Tests for Teachers and Students

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

as a parent i would take a HUGE offense of the school she attended wanted to start drug testing ( which drugs?) at age 13>

Even teachers i would not feel comfortable with testing
If a teacher chooses to smoke a joint or take extasy over the weekend, i would be no more or less at ease, if they got drunk for 2 days
BUT fucking society says drugs are worse :stir:
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Clearly it's a response to the Methamphetamine epidemic that's washing through the region. Nobody gives much of a toss about pot use

However, until such times as this is implemented and becomes the norm it's just noise and may never happen

Class A drugs are a category of substances that are considered to have a high potential for abuse and are associated with significant health risks. These drugs include substances like heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine (1).

The use of class A drugs can have a wide range of negative effects on individuals and society as a whole.

At the individual level, the use of class A drugs can lead to physical and psychological dependence, which can result in withdrawal symptoms when the drug is not used (2). These drugs can also have negative impacts on physical health, including increased risk of overdose (3), organ damage (4), and increased risk of infectious diseases (5).

Class A drugs can also have significant psychological effects, including changes in mood, cognition, and behavior (6). These drugs can impair judgment and decision-making, leading to risky or dangerous behaviors (7). In some cases, the use of class A drugs can lead to mental health problems, such as anxiety (8), depression (9), and psychosis (10).

At the societal level, the use of class A drugs can have significant economic costs, including costs associated with healthcare (11), treatment (12), and lost productivity (13). The use of class A drugs can also contribute to crime and social unrest (14), as people may turn to illegal activities in order to obtain the drugs.

Overall, the use of class A drugs can have significant negative impacts on both individuals and society, and it is important for individuals to be aware of the risks associated with these substances.
