Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A grenade was found by a streetcleaner in a cake left on the National Assembly Road in front of Naga Company World 2 in Khan Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh.
According to a man named Heng Silap, a taxi driver, at about 6:10 a.m. on 15 December, there was a female cleaning worker who said to him, "Uncle! Come to see what I found ! There was a round piece of metal stuck to this cake on the road, so I put it on the lawn". When he saw the object, he knew it was a bomb, so he reported this to NagaWorld security and then reported to the authorities.



Acording to an anonymous witness, at around midnight on the previous evening, two young men were riding a motorcycle near the park In front of the National Assembly and they asked each other where to put it? Another replied: Put it out in front there. The men left their cargo on the road and they rode away on the motorcycle.

Interior Ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak said a witness had seen a Range Rover drop off “the thing” before the cleaner picked it up.

Based on looking up the car’s license plate, the suspects could be Chinese or Cambodian, he said.
