Policeman Complains After Attacker Released on Orders from Above
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): 10 December 2022 – On social media, Mr. Heng Sovanndara, Deputy Inspector of Chbar Ampov District, who was whipped by a violent man causing injuries to his head and mouth, has called out the injustice of the release of his attacker by the Chbar Ampov district police inspector. This release without condition has caused a lot of criticism from social media users.
Mr. Heng Sovanndara, Deputy Inspector of Chbar Ampov District, (victim of the incident), wrote on social media complaining that it was unfair that he as Deputy Inspector was injured, while the perpetrator could go home free. It is rumored that the perpetrator is not just a normal person, but that he has connections in high places who ordered his release without charges. This is confirmed by the unusual intervention of the Chbar Ampov Deputy Prosecutor, who arranged the affair. If the perpetrator was just an ordinary man, he would be handcuffed and sent to court.
Heng Sovanndara, Deputy Inspector of Chbar Ampov District, wrote on social media in pain: “I filed a complaint and sent the perpetrator to the Chbar Ampov police station. However, the police inspectorate allowed the perpetrator to go home freely without telling me, the head of unit!”
Chbar Ampov District Inspector Mr. Mao Soeuth confirmed that before the release a proper record was done, and the release was made in accordance with the order of the Deputy Prosecutor in charge of Chbar Ampov.
Lt. Gen. Thet, Deputy Commissioner General and Phnom Penh Municipal Police Commissioner, could not be reached for comment.
The public is now waiting with bated breath to see if Mr. Heng Sovanndara, Deputy Inspector of Chbar Ampov District, who is the victim, will receive justice, and whether his assailant will face the law.

Good on him but he may lose his job , unless the media makes a big deal over this
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

What a poof! If that is the sum of his injuries, he just made himself look stupid. He should be more worried about that mole burrowing it's way out of his face.

You wouldn't say that, if it happened to you (it wouldn't sound right in that context, for a start).
It's not about the physical injuries; that just proves intent.
If he broke into your house, and whipped you, and your mates found him, and let him go because they said he was a good guy, I don't think you'd say "my bad."

If anything you said made sense I would argue with you beyond pointing out the obvious. But it doesn't, so I won't.Pseudonomdeplume wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:12 pmYou wouldn't say that, if it happened to you (it wouldn't sound right in that context, for a start).

Try harder.
