u got to to kidding
I'd have to agree on that one. The Best part is the surrounding jungly hills. It was only ever a tiny stretch of beach, even in the 60s. It needed regular sand deliveries back then and since because it's naturally quite stoney, and the stones are sharp. The new sea reclamation is awful.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Membership to the club is fairly easy, but do make sure to pay the annual contribution: https://world-bays.com/statutes/

Officials Crack Down on Jet Ski Beach Pollution
Image
Cambodia News, (Sihanoukville): On Sunday, January 22, 2023, tourists visiting Ochheuteal beach in Sihanoukville province said that the water smelled of oil. In this case, the Sihanoukville City Administration announced that the bad smell came from the jet skis because the owner of the jet ski business was refueling the jet skis on the beach, causing harm to the environment.

The same day, the authorities announced that they have discovered the identity of the owner of the jet ski business who poured petrol and oil on the beach and into the water, so they are confiscating the jet ski and storing it at Sihanoukville City Hall on Ochheuteal-2 Beach (near Public Bathroom 1), in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.

The municipal authorities have requested all jet ski owners to avoid the above behavior (refueling and oil changes) at Occheuteal Beach to ensure the environmental safety of beach-goers.

It has been suggested that the jet-ski operators should dump their fuel and oil in the sewers where it will (supposedly) be cleaned before being released into the ocean.
However, a better move on the part of the Sihanoukville authorities would be to provide operators with an environmentally safe means of disposing of all types of fuel and oil from boats and jetskis on the beachfront and the piers, and to enforce the rules of disposal with fines.

Sihanoukville authorities need to take note that it is not sufficient to label a beach as "Clean and Beautiful", if it is dirty and polluted, because people do notice these things. As Sihanoukville city plans to encourage many more tourists to come to enjoy the beaches there, it should be an absolute priority for the authorities to take measures to keep the beaches clean and attractive.
