A Box of Baby Parrots from Thailand For Sale: $150 a Throw

This is where you can buy and sell anything you want in Cambodia! There is no 'Craigslist Cambodia,' so this is the next best thing. Most items for sale are in Phnom Penh, but this is a buy and sell section for the whole country. Many expats and tourists have new and used items to sell, so anyone can list them here. CEO has no part in these sales, so buyers and sellers need to get in contact with each other themselves. You're always welcome to list items you're giving away for free, as we encourage the community to give when they can. Amazon and eBay ship select items to Cambodia, but you save time and money when you do things locally.

I kept a mating pair of conures, very smart little birds but incredibly shrill and are not good pets unless someone is home with them during the day.

Anyone know this company?

I was sure the Subject read 'Baby Carrots', and thought 'wow, that sounds expensive'.

Probably and surely wild caught and smuggled. Fucking disgusting and the Mod's should delete a thread that sells endangered and illegal animals, IMHO.

I'm surprised that those Sun Conures are critically endangered, I thought Queen of Bavaria's were more so but apparently not. I knew a rich guy years ago who had a pair of those, they were seriously expensive. I sold him a pair of Red-headed Conures one time and he gave them back to me in disgust a couple of weeks later, for free. He had put them in a mixed aviary and they'd killed a whole load of birds. I hadn't had that problem as I'd kept them in their own aviary.
Anyway, I'd guess the birds above are captive bred as they are so young. Not too many of the birds on the Facebook page look in good condition though.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_parakeet
In the past, the sun parakeet has been considered safe and listed as Least Concern, but recent surveys in southern Guyana (where previously considered common) and the Brazilian state Roraima have revealed that it possibly is extirpated from the former and rare in the latter. It is very rare in French Guiana, but may breed in the southern part of the country (this remains unconfirmed). This species is very popular in captivity, and large numbers have been caught for the pet trade. Today it is regularly bred in captivity, but the capture of wild individuals potentially remains a very serious threat. This has fueled recent discussions regarding its status, leading to it being uplisted to Endangered in the 2008 IUCN Red List
Yeah, depends on whether they were captured or bred in captivity. And if these particular birds were bred, the parents may have been captured.
Not sure if it's possible to prove one way or another.
I wouldn't have birds in captivity anyway. (When I was a kid my budgie was frightened to death by the cat - a gruesome sight. :( )
Edit: Frank, how can you tell ?

Aviculture
Lilian's Lovebird is a difficult species to rear in captivity. Many breeders worldwide struggle to breed the species.
