Cambodia News (Preah Sihanouk Province): On Saturday afternoon, 3 December 2022, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration released a preliminary report of the police raids on allegedly Chinese-led cyberslave operations conducted between 30 November and 2 December 2022. Based on a lead from Hotline Complaint No. 627, the Sihanouk Provincial Police conducted a search operation at a company building in Group 9, Village 1, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province.
After inspecting and searching the above location, 223 illegal foreigners were found and released, including 35 women, as well as some exhibits. The team involved in the search and inspection operation found the five Chinese complainants in Room 316 on the third floor of the building, on 29 November 2022, as reported to the hotline number.
However, as for allegations of torture by the five Chinese nationals in the complaint, the authorities found no evidence of torture or anything related to criminal acts committed against the employees.
This case is still being investigated by authorities and further details will be provided soon.
