Cambodia News, (Svay Rieng): A drive-by shooting in the middle of the night at a karaoke shop in Bavet City caused a surprise to the villagers and the police. The incident happened at 2:30am on November 22, 2022 at the "68" karaoke bar, located in Bavet Kandal Village, Bavet Sangkat, Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province.
Sources said that according to the information, the shooting was caused by a group of Vietnamese people who drove past the venue in a gray car with license plate Phnom Penh 2BL2934. Later that day, eleven Vietnamese women were taken into custody, including 7 minors less than 18-years-old.

Police arrived at the scene and found 8 bullet cases and 1 Phnom Penh 2BH0217 license plate.

Later, the police continued to search and found the car abandonned on National Road No. 1, at Kandeang Reay village, Svay Teap district, Svay Rieng province, and the police continued to search until 6 pm on the same day and determined the rental location. Police then raided the house of Kao Phalla, a 40-year-old female, located in Borey Rithy Residence in Ta Bip Village, Bavet City, where they found eleven Vietnamese women and girls who were taken into custody for questioning at the Bavet City Police Inspectorate.

It is not sure what the women will be charged with, if, as it seems likely, they are victims of a human-trafficking gang. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor of Svay Rieng Provincial Court has ordered their detention during further investigation by Cambodian authorities.

Looks like most of them just arrived in Cambodia, the blue passports are the new ones (they new passports also have no date of birth, so many countries won't accept them).

Is it not the absence of the place of birth?

While place of birth isn't required in ICAO's passport standard, most countries include it in their passport (except South Korean passport, Swiss passport and Canadian passport - the latter only at request). As a result, some countries in the Schengen area has refused to issue a visa and/or refuse admission to holder of new Vietnamese passport.

My bad, of course it is the absence of place of birth.
