Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News (Mondulkiri): On 21 November 2022, Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Rangers in Mondulkiri Province arrested two male suspects on a motorbike, after they had set traps to snare wild forest birds in the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary. The raid was conducted in O'Am village, Sre Khtom commune, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province, and the two men were caught with the birds literally on them.

The Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary rangers said that they stopped the two suspects for questioning and a body-search, because they were behaving suspiciously. All was revealed when the two wildlife poachers were made to open their coats, where they were hiding dozens of wild forest birds that they planned to smuggle across the border to Vietnam. In all, the officials found 39 birds hidden on the suuspects' bodies, in pockets, and under the motorbike seat.

Currently, the two suspects have been sent to the Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Environment to build a case against them for wildlife smuggling, to be sent to court for legal proceedings.
