This museum is like no other, a must go for those who love Chinese history. The Chinese name of this museum is 國立故宮博物院 literally National (國立) Forbidden City (故宮) Museum (博物院), Forbidden City in Peking is actually the Chinese Palace so its called National Palace Museum.

Thanks to the President Chiang Ching-Kuo of the KMT, these Chinese treasures had been saved from the dumb communist's destructions during the Cultural Revolution.

This brought back a memory of first trip to Hong Kong, ex's old man worked in a factory complex scummy as hell, took me to lunch with the workers only things on menu boiled rice, roast pork, large bottles of beer, yummy.

Ok this post will not make justice to local food nevertheless here it is a dinner at the Kaohsiung city's Marriot Hotel.

I've never sat on such a humongous table (for 10) like this in my life

We started with a appetizer consisting of 4 items - prawns, fungus & jellyfish, mullet roe, tofu

And then its the lobster with curry sauce

Beef simply melts in your mouth

We had a wonderful dinner certainly however these are not Taiwanese food at all. If looking at what Taiwanese food is all about look at the next video below

I spent 7 hours doing the museum my first trip to Taipei. Amazing collection!
