10 Foreigners @ Queenco Casino SHV Detained (No Work Permit)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

The British man, Daniel Michael Anthony Wilce, was detained because his visa had also expired on March 20, 2015.
Hey UT, even for a mod, your reading is not so hot.

See above.

See that tiny word 'also' in the last sentence/ That implies he was both working without a work permit, and had also no visa - not even a tourist one- which was valid.
It could also imply that the others had valid tourist visas, as that would still qualify as "not having work *visas*", and Mr Wilce had an expired tourist visa.

Without an accurate translation, or another news source it's almost impossible to verify what happened. It might well be that they've arrested these folk for simply working without a work permit, but I highly doubt that would be the case.

I discussed this with the Gl by pms when it all started and he doesn't seem to get that point at all.
Taking someone else property and watermarking it with CEO is utterly out of any journalistic ethic lines.

I think there's a difference between academic plagiarism and posting news. One is intentional deceit, the other is just laziness.

If working without paperwork is so severe a crime that it requires deportation of offenders then the employers should be prosecuted and businesses shut down for the violation. It takes two to tango.

Heading to Lucky Lucky on Monday. They showed some forms including a medical report, and gave the price of $100 each per year so must be on a commission to make it worthwhile. Said it could take 2 months to process the initial book. They also want us to back pay for time already spent here but genuinely don't look too hopeful.
Are you actually drawing a salary? That's the confusing part. I'm not drawing a salary in Cambodia.

As have i, many times

he watermarks youtube videos /photos not ceo's

could be, as others think, he wants to make first claims so K440 wont take it from here and claim they found it?
and by not posting a link makes it more difficult ( yea by about 20 seconds) to post it elsewhere?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

No - and it turns out the important factor is having the ordinary visa, which is still deemed to be a business/work visa.
