What's going on with Vietnam visas?
What's going on with Vietnam visas?
We've been trying to get visas for Vietnam for the last couple of weeks. The travel agents tell us that they can't apply online.
Anyone have news?

What visa are you applying for and from where?
Re: What's going on with Vietnam visas?
We're in PP and have a flight booked from HCM next week. Tourist e-visa.

Why don't you apply for an e-visa yourself? Valid for a maximum of 30 days, here is a list of nationalities that can apply for it: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/docum ... f82b0853e2
Here is the official government site: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt

Yeah, I think we'll do that. It's just weird that the travel agents I've spoken to today have said they won't process Vietnam visas. Money gets paid for the visa, visa gets rejected and money stays in Vietnam.
All this trouble because I didn't notice the word "single" in place of "multiple".

Just so you know, you cannot extend the 30-day VN tourist visa in-country. If you want to stay longer, you have to leave, cross the border and book another e-visa and then re-cross into VN. Lots of transport services are doing border runs.Wkkep wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 2:06 pm Yeah, I think we'll do that. And there are no 90-day visas available now, just multiple levels of investor business visas. VN has been re-opened since March 15 and not a peep from the VN gov.
Loads of foreigners have left/are leaving Vietnam and moving to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and some even returning home of after several tiresome/annoying border runs for new 30-day visas in a row.

Isn't it better to go directly to the embassy itself? They have that sketchy yet very legitimate visa sign flashing outside

It's been a learning experience. The Vietnam Embassy was no help. Thanks for the reply.

We saw the big sign. Went there and were ignored. Apparently you can get a business visa but not a tourist visa.

As far as I know tourist visas for VN are currently evisa only. Why the hell they don't allow VOA with the right paperwork or via Embassy/consulate I have no idea. Idiots.
