Drunk Chinese Man Drives into a House
Is no one safe from Phnom Penh's night drivers ?
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A Chinese man drove a Nissan Navarra at high speed in a drunken state, oversteered, and crashed into a shophouse, some motorbikes and a car, along with some equipment in the shop. This happened at 10 pm on November 4, 2022 along the concrete road behind Borey Okide in Sangkat Stung Meanchey III, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.
Sources at the scene said that before the incident, a Chinese man was seen in a silver Nissan, with license plate Phnom Penh 2AC-8626, driving along the concrete road in the direction west to east at high speed, and when arriving at the scene above he drove into the front of a house selling motorcycles. Vehicles and cars parked in another house were also damaged, including equipment, glass cabinets and many other goods.
Meanwhile the Nissan driver refused to stop until he got to the concrete road near the traffic light, where he got out of his car and ran away,* leaving the vehicle on the road.
Fortunately, in the above traffic accident, no one was injured, although there was some material damage. The Chinese man's car was towed away to be kept at the police station.
*CEO News: A later report says, that on arrival at the scene, police took an unidentified Chinese man into custody. He is believed to be the driver of the Nissan vehicle.
