Traffic restrictions in Phnom Penh next week

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Avoid might be an understatement. I understand they will not allow any traffic on those roads on the 8th, 9th and 11th.

So, all southbound traffic from Wat Phnom area will be forced onto either Sisowath Quay or Street 19 (that will gridlock quickly) or Monivong, (assuming 110 will be available). As street 63 is northbound only there will be no way to go south between 19 and Monivong.

Northbound will have Monivong, 63, and then nothing until 19 (which will be fucked) or Sisowath Quay.

Is that correct or am I missing something?

Looks like a good week to head down to Kampot.

I read that as just a location point for the closure of 178. I assume 178 is being closed because of the Hyatt Regency and all the Asean dignitaries who will be staying there.

If they close Sisowath quay, then street 19 will be the only north/south road.

Are they going to block the crossing of Norodom and 51 in an east-west direction?
