Kep as a holiday destination during water festival

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Never were gibbons, that i know of, at least not since i've been going to kep in 2006,
there regular monkeys an yes they are still here
nice drive kampot -kep in 2010<
he must have been on acid, the road was terrible back than

its still set up for Cambodians to relax at one the many gh's and resorts and than eat seafood on the sidewalk at the beach
some just eat on the side of the road before they even make it to the beach ( save $15-20)

they have built a whole new series of small shops just past the crab market shacks but only a few are occupied an now seems there building more at the north end of the beach where they are building a 750 m zip line to the top of the mtn

Thanks for the info everyone. The children are 7 & 8yo and the eldest loves seafood so i think we'll definitely be trying the crab market and restaurants.
The train station was rather busy when i popped in at lunchtime to buy the tickets.
Just a FYI if you pay by ABA there's a small surcharge. For kep, for 3 seats, it was $0.65.

figure the street around the mtn will be full of kids on motorcycles, I have no idea why thye paved it!! pity as places do have some good views
Been up to the mountain four times after they paved it and there have not been any more motorcycles than before. But a lot more people walking and bicycling around it than ever before.

During a holiday?
or during the week, when its dead?
went once during the week an it was great, another time on a saturday, didn't get past the 1st coffee shop cause there were so many teenagers on motorcycles

PS: still preferred it pre paved :beer3:

No Richard the road was fine before they started digging it up. Might have been 2008. And only gibbons whoop like that. They must be all gone.
