Pagoda Boy Caught Stealing Phones from Monks

Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey): On 27 October 2022, a pagoda boy was sent to the Provincial Court by the Provincial Criminal Police Office, charged with stealing phones from monks at the pagoda where he was living. The phone exhibits have been returned to the monks by the municipal military.

Colonel Yan Sovann said that after receiving a complaint from a monk, on 25 October 2022, the local police force investigated and arrested a 28-year-old male suspect named Chot Chhong, who was living in Wat Sovan Bopota (called Wat Khla Kon Chas) in Khla Kon Chas village, Sangkat Kampong Svay, Serey Sophorn city, Banteay Meanchey province. The police confiscated 4 stolen mobile phones, belonging to monks, including:
1 / - 2 red OPPO phones,
2 / - 1 blue OPPO phone,
3 / - Phone One white VIVO brand

Colonel Men Phirum, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Gendarmerie in charge of research and crime suppression, confirmed that the suspect admitted that he had stolen the monks' phones.
