At least 149 in South Korean stampede

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

I can't stand crowds either, somewhere like that would be a nightmare for me.

An article I read said that a large number of victims were young girls in their 20s, I'm not sure why but that makes it seem even worse to me.

If the guy with the blue and red flashing lights is a paramedic? he’s doing a very poor job of performing chest compressions on that poor girl.
His hands are separated and pushing on either side of her chest, pushing with just his arms, and her chest is barely moving.
He should have one hand on top of the other, placed on the bottom of her breastbone, pushing down (stiff armed) with all his weight.
Granted, at least he’s trying, but see the difference between his attempts versus the other two guys performing CPR.

He may have been doing it for some time. I don’t know if you’ve ever had to do that (I have) but after 30 mins you’re drained of any power.

^^^^ I won't watch the video but I read that paramedics called on bystanders to help treat the injured because there were so many. That could be the reason for poor CPR technique.

Anyway, I'm just shocked at how many people relentlessly kept pushing people into narrow alleys, crushing them. Just awful. I, too, do not go anywhere there are big crowds such as stadiums, concerts, clubs, parades, outdoor events, etc.

A recent example of the horrible dangers of crowds was the fire that ravaged the illegal Mountain B Club in Chonburi province, Thailand, on Aug. 5. All exits were bolted shut, with only the front available as an escape. The death toll just went up to 26 a day or two ago.

The few paramedics dispatched (relative to the many needing help) were clearly overwhelmed. The immediate need were hundreds of paramedics, or most the emergency services in Seoul needed to converge in that one spot in time. An impossible task.
