Out of sight out of your mind.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Am I the only one that thinks washing sand off the road into the drains and blocking them is a stupid idea.

It’s from the land so it’ll go down the drain anyway.

No, it's sand sucked up by the sand barges and deposited in a holding yard. This is a spill onto the road caused by a heavy rainstorm.

So the drains go into the river. Everyone is happy.

Can’t you come up with your own retort instead of wheeling out that tired old saying?

I much prefer a thick layer of sand on the national roads in my braking zones

Makes riding the superbike that bit more dicey

Wouldn't the first heavy rain wash a lot of the sand into the drains anyway?

Rainy season is ending rather than beginning but heavy rains leave sand that becomes dust

So washing it away is a positive for homes/businesses in the area and also road users

It would be better to have a sweeper truck do it for sure but a wash is also good

That makes sense for homes and businesses.
