Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On Wednesday morning, 9 November 2022 Prime Minister HE received the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, HE Dmytro Kuleba, at the Peace Palace. His Excellency Dmytro Kuleba addressed Prime Minister HE with a message from His Excellency the President of Ukraine and congratulated Cambodia on the 69th anniversary of Cambodia's Independence Day.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also thanked Cambodia for issuing a statement through the ASEAN Foreign Ministers expressing concern over the situation in Ukraine and calling for an immediate end to the use of force and a return to peaceful negotiations in support of the UN General Assembly resolution. He added that he was very encouraged to hear this, and congratulated Cambodia for this, since Cambodia has gone through many long wars, but has finally achieved peace, stability and development in all areas, all of which are the aspirations of the Ukrainian people.

In response, Prime Minister HE thanked the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs for bringing a message from the Ukranian President. Prime Minister HE added that Cambodia truly understands the feelings of the Ukrainian people and affirmed that Cambodia's position on the war in Ukraine will be to adhere to and respect the principles shared in the UN Charter and international law. Cambodia opposes aggression, threats or the use of violence against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of independent states, and does not support the separation of states or the invasion of territory from other countries.
Taking this opportunity, the Cambodian Prime Minister sent a message of greetings to all Ukrainians, and wished all Ukrainians peace and development in the near future.

The Sultan of Brunei Arrives in Phnom Penh International Airport

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 9 November 2022, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muyizadin Vadullah, King of Brunei Darussalam, paid a state visit to Cambodia in response to the visit of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia previously. The King of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Cambodia at 2:50 pm this afternoon to visit King Norodom Sihamoni and also attend the ASEAN Summit and other summits to be held during the occasion.

The summits hosted by Cambodia between 10 to 13 November 2022 in Phnom Penh will include: 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits, 25th ASEAN-China Summit 25th ASEAN-Japan Summit 23rd ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit 25th ASEAN Plus Three Summit 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership ASEAN-US Summit The 10th ASEAN-Australia Summit marks the anniversary of ASEAN-Canada relations, the ASEAN-UN Summit and the 17th East Asia Summit.

During the visit, the Sultan, King of Brunei Darussalam, will hold an audience with His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace.
The Sultan and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE will also hold a bilateral summit at the Peace Palace on November 14, 2022, and will preside over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of the two countries on bilateral consultations.
The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam will also lay a wreath at the Independence Monument and at the shrine of the late king, His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk.
The state visit of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muyizadin Wadullah, King of Brunei Darussalam, coincides with the two countries' 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year.

Russian Foreign Minister to Attend East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh

Russian Foreign Minister H.E. Sergey Lavrov will travel to Cambodia for the 17th East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh, senior official of the Russian Embassy in Cambodia told AKP this everning.

“The Russian delegation attending the ASEAN-related Summit will be led by H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation," said Mr. Rafael Iangareev, Russian Embassy's Press Attaché.

Currently, Russia is one of the main partner of ASEAN. ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership started in July 1991 after Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation attended the Opening Session of the 24th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in Kuala Lumpur as a guest of the Malaysian Government. Russia was subsequently elevated to a full Dialogue Partner of ASEAN at the 29th AMM in July 1996 in Jakarta.

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Dr. Hok Kim Cheng, Technical Director General of the Ministry of Health, announced in a notice dated November 8, 2022, that there is a ban on the use of sirens by medical vehicles vehicles, ie. ambulances belonging to National Hospitals, National Clinics and Private Health Services, on the roads of Phnom Penh during the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related meetings held in the city from November 8 to 14, 2022.
