Gorilla's do not belong in department stores and the government should be able to confiscate the animal for cruelty. People/customers should boycott such a store.
To put a price tag on that animal is pure ransom.

Dear me, that works out at about $787,000 at current exchange rates. I yearn for the days when you could buy a baby chimp on the Quai de la Megisserie for the price of a good dinner.

That is so sad. I found a Free Buanoi movement online and there is an International Free Buanoi Day on 13 April.

The Thai government says that they will raise funds to buy Buanoi from the mall owners, but I think it's scandalous to give them more money . As truffledog says, it amounts to paying a ransom to the owner Khun Kanit Sersirigmongkol, who said that he started the zoo in the first place because he loves animals! However, he's willing to sell any of them on to the highest bidder.*
Problem is ... over the years, there has already been a lot of campaigning online and petitions to free Buanoi, and yet nothing has been done, even Cher couldn't get anyone to budge on this.

IMO, more bad local press and a boycott of the department store wouldn't hurt, but that's got to be up to the Thai people and whether they give a fk. Looks like poor old Buanoi won't get out of the Pata Zoo until she drops dead.

What is the point of a military junta running an oppressive dictatorship if it can't flex its muscles once in a while for a good cause with near universal support?truffledog wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 11:37 pm https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... la-at-b30m

To put a price tag on that animal is pure ransom.
The government should offer two options:
Option 1.
Put the owner of the mall in the cage with the gorilla;
Agree to pay 1m THB for every hour the owner stays there:
Sell tickets to the event and live stream on pay-per-view etc. to help defray costs.
Option 2.
The owner can donate the gorilla to a better home.
Problem solved

How will we know who the highest bidder is?Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 1:14 am That is so sad...
The Thai government...he loves animals! However, he's willing to sell any of them on to the highest bidder.*
Is there a cut off time?
"Here's all the city's 5,550 bananas, for the ass-scratching monkey."
"He's a gorilla."
"That's who I was talking to. You might want to to get your bananas out of here before I let him out, or you might get some bananarama up your pyjama, karma."
Of course, humans eat more bananas than primates, which isn't that surprising; I've never seen anyone eating a primate.

Safari World could buy it so they could have gorilla vs orangutan boxing.
