Transferring US$ from Cambodia to Laos

Does anyone have experience of sending US$ from Cambodia to Laos?
I could do an international bank transfer but covering all fees would be $45-65.
Would a Wise account help (never used so not sure if it even works from Cambodia and what is required)?
Or is there a better way not to lose too much in bank fees?

found out, wise does not operate in Cambodia =so swift or expensive Western union

Thanks. Would be good if there is another option....Swift might make sense for larger payments but I need to send $3-4K.
I forget the cheapest way to send Cambodia to Thailand, but there is a way to do it by paying a money supplier based at the border who has an office on both sides. If the same existed for Cambodia to Laos that would be ideal...
