How is it a bump?reggie perrin's dad wrote:And there was cynical old me expecting a pointless bump from the latest thread necromancer.
Some good news here at least!
New info on new rules from lessons learned.
Hopefully another tragedy can be avoided.
Maybe a transition from the old thinking of karma, to bad things can be prevented or mitigated.
Maybe a glimmer of hope for the future.

It is a bump, isn't it? Albeit one with pertinent new information.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 5:45 amHow is it a bump?reggie perrin's dad wrote:And there was cynical old me expecting a pointless bump from the latest thread necromancer.

I said I was expecting a pointless bump as I know the story is a while old. The implication there is that I realised I was wrong. Come on NewKid, your missus would''ve picked up on that with her ACE reading skills!

TBH I thought *exactly* the same, but did not want to post that as I imagined the person you refer to would see that as an invitation to quarrel rather than a gentle nudge to show the social behaviour more-or-less expected by the audience of this forum. Help him understand the non-written rules so to say.reggie perrin's dad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 1:44 am And there was cynical old me expecting a pointless bump from the latest thread necromancer.

And indeed my assumption appeared correct. In my imagination he is either the grumpy boy posted in the other thread, or an old person who has only fairly recently 'discovered' the internet. My Space/Facebook kind of person rather than Darpa/Usenet which could explain these blind spots.
At first I even thought MarkNZ / Mark Millin had returned under a new handle and was trolling the site!
