In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Cambodia Riel or US $
Yeah. Going out for some drinks and food I figure carrying around 8-10 50,000 riel notes would be no different than carrying around 5-6 $20 notes.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:21 am i have zero problem with 50,000 an use them everywhere

Re: Cambodia Riel or US $
The 50,000 bill is tough on my local street vendors here. I prefer to have exact change and appreciate having all the notes available for drinks, gas etc.. Same thing with tuk-tuk drivers who rarely have much change to offer.

Except the 50k riel notes will not be refused if dirty, torn, etc etc etcKenr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:27 amYeah. Re: Cambodia Riel or US $
By default the ACLEDA ATM will give you 50k notes in this province. Now there's only one machine (out of 4 or 5) they will fill up with 20k notes. 10k is obsolete now in the ATM's here, so more and more common every day I guess.
Re: Cambodia Riel or US $
It is my understanding that if using a foreign debit card at an ATM machine you cannot withdraw riel, is that correct?
I was just going to, well try to, do over-the-counter debit withdrawals, or just do ATM withdrawals at the bank and convert there.
Re: Cambodia Riel or US $
If a place prices in $ and works on the rate of 4000 riel to the $ then I would pay in Riel. I withdraw Riel at Canadia's ATM's from my $ account there, rate of 4125 today and no fees.
