Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 8 October 2022, a young monk committed suicide by hanging himself with a belt attached to the ceiling of the room where he was living in Wat Toul Sopheakhuon, Prey Tea 2 Village, Sangkat Choam Chao III, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
According to sources at the scene, the monk was 23 years old Met Meng Heang, from Kampong Cham province, studying in Phnom Penh.
The monk’s colleague confirmed that he did not know what happened because the young monk showed no signs of crisis. On the night of 7 October 2022, they entered their respective cells on the second floor of the monastery as usual, and the everyone went to sleep.
The next morning, when the colleague woke up at 5am, he suddenly found the victim, but unfortunately it was too late to save him.

The incident was then reported to the police of the 3rd Chaom Chao Post and the police of Po Sen Chey district who came to the scene to conduct autopsy.
