Man Dies of Electrocution in Wet Bathroom

Cambodia News (Battambang): On 27 September 2022, at 8:10am, a man was found dead from accidental electrocution, after he touched a live power cable which had wires exposed, while he was standing on a wet bathroom floor.
The incident happened at Ta Sung village, Bay Damram commune, Banan district, and the victim was identified as a 34-year-old man named Muy Vanty who lived in that village.
After receiving the information, the police examined the scene of the incident, and it was confirmed that the victim died from an electrocution. The body of the victim has now been handed over to the family for funeral rites.

UPDATE

According to the victim's family, the cause of death found by the competent authorities was that before entering the bathroom to wash clothes, the victim connected the power cord through the bathroom window to listen to music. After inspecting the body and the area in the room, the police found that the wire that went into the bathroom was not wrapped properly, so when the victim touched the wire, he was electrocuted.
