Cambodia Breaking News , (Kampot): CPU (Child Protection Unit) Homicide and Forensic Teams are in Kampot assisting Kampot Police Command with the investigation of the murders of a 3 year old and a 4 year old child.

Task Force FOXTROT22 Investigate the Double Murder of 3 and 4 yr old boys in Kampot.
On the 20th of September 2022 at about 1830hrs, the family of 2 young boys reported them missing, then at about 23.30 on the same night, the boys' bodies were found in a dam approximately 200m from their home. Initial reports indicated that both boys had been assaulted and had head injuries.
The CPU was contacted. On the 21st of September 2022, CPU Homicide Investigators, CPU Forensic Teams, and the Ministry of Interior traveled to Kampot. Task Force FOXTROT22 was established with Kampot Police Command and the Ministry of Interior to investigate the deaths.

Forensic examinations were carried out on the deceased and crime scene examinations were conducted. As a result, the deaths were ruled as a homicide. Investigators spent the next 24 hours locating witnesses and searching multiple crime scenes.

As a result of extensive inquiries, 2 persons of interest were taken into custody, and it has now been established that both of them are children. Statements have been obtained and confessional evidence recorded. Investigators are not looking for any other suspects in regard to the murders of these two children.
