Re: Best Method to Transfer money to Cambodia
I think there's no forex involved in pissontheroof's case of $US to SUS just a small fee either end by the sounds of it. Unlike Pound to $US transfers.

Out of curiosity, are there any ATM’s there that allow up to $2,000 on a single transaction? If not, what’s the max single withdrawal and where?

Re: Best Method to Transfer money to Cambodia
I’m almost sure BRED bank allows $2000 out at a crack
The limit on my withdrawal from my bank is $1500
It’s possible to change that
but that’s all I need out 2x per month .
And yes , no forex on US$ , can even use amurican credit card at the air conditioned supermarkets,
Burger King. and The Habit Burger with no extra forex fees .

at BRED bank :
$2000 is the limit and $4.00 is the charge
I remember ABA has different fees for withdrawals in increments , cheapest being $9

Is Remitly in Cambodia? I have heard some good things about them from friends in SE Asia.

I'm just happy that they finally got ATM's here in Cambodia (although I got robbed the first two times I used one lol). Before that, a trip to the floating casino was necessary (to exchange traveller's checks).

Do you know if these are the rates for only their debit cards, or do they also apply to foreign debit cards? At Capital One I have a $2010 ATM daily limit.pissontheroof wrote: ↑Fri Sep 30, 2022 4:08 pm at BRED bank :

Re: Best Method to Transfer money to Cambodia
This is a ( name ) BRED bank I don’t have an account at but after all these years here ,
it’s the least spensive of all the other ones I ever used ,
When i got here in 2011 i used to get $800 max ( a day ) out of canadia bank then , then i would use UCB bank for out $1000 max
There were times I had to use ABA , cost is more spensive .
Now this one BRED Bank allow $2000 out at each crack , I don’t have an account with them ,
just visa debit card from Bank of America
