But if it is so, being so strict, although this is the biggest sweep I have seen. But why not go the full hog and at least get rid of some casino's.
Get rid of all the casinos in the KOW!

I fail to see how they, in any way, can be a positive addition to the khmer people or to any of us. Who does benift from the casinos?
Who Benefits?
The owners
the suppliers
the employees
the electric company
the tax dept

:please:
Khmers don't go in legal casinos to gamble as their not allowed

But, i do partial agree with ya , get rid of the ILEGEAL casinos
All of the above mentioned benefit has you say. I would think that it is more likely what tax money is paid to the government, but business is not doing too well, like many hit in covid time's, and the Chinese are not coming back in droves like before. I also wonder what about the tax, or more how it is accounted for?
Yes and Khmer can't enter the casino's, not good when this large scale gambling is in your country and you can't participate.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

So if I understand this correctly, people that are found illegally detaining workers will be fined 500$-something?

No jail time for what is essentially human trafficking and kidnapping?

Sometimes I wish that I was bad, there is some good business opportunities here

Be sure to call from an anonymous phone because the police are not on your side...

Is that just badly worded or did the competent authorities help them pack up?

:geek: It's not clear if the Cambodians actually helped them to pack, but I definitely get the feeling that the main object here is to evict all these illegal gambling centres from Cambodia, and to deport all the foreigners who are involved as fast as possible, without sorting the victims from the scammers.
Cambodia is not really washing its dirty laundry - more likely just passing it on, probably to somewhere like Myanmar or Laos. Well, good riddance.

Out of curiosity why do you want to snitch on them ? Have they wronged you in some way or do you just not like them ?

CEOCambodiaNews wrote: Mon Sep 19, 2022 1:44 am Authorities in 14 districts in Phnom Penh cracked down on 34 gambling dens and arrested 64 people
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Following the order of the authorities from the 17 September, 14 districts in Phnom Penh conducted a series of operations to crack down on gambling.
Colonel San Sok Seiha, spokesman for the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, told the news agency on the afternoon of September 18, 2022 that the operations of the 14 district authorities in Phnom Penh in accordance with the order of Mr. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh cracked down on 34 cases and arrested 64 people, including 29 women.

The same source confirmed that police will continue to investigate and crack down on all types of illegal gambling sites on a regular basis.
The 64 men and women arrested have been interrogated by the authorities, and the case was sent to the Phnom Penh Prosecutor's Office for further proceedings.
Less than 2 people per place. It’s almost if they were tipped off.

I wonder if they raided any of the poker rooms in Phnom Penh, or the ‘hotels’ that are only there for gambling. I doubt it
