Cambodia News, (Kandal Province): On September 13, at 1 pm, the police received information about the case of finding the body of a 10-year-old boy, a second grade student, resident of Prek Ta Prohm village, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province.
The death was initially reported as a suicide, but an autopsy revealed that the circumstances surrounding the boy's death were suspicious, and the case was investigated as a probable homicide.

The Child Protection Unit was informed of the case. The Homicide Investigation Team (HIT) and the Scientific Technical Team (FST) participated in the investigation and investigation of the scene in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Kandal Provincial Police. Some individuals and witnesses were questioned by law enforcement.


On September 14, at 4 pm, after interrogating individuals and witnesses, the police targeted and arrested a person named Min Ratana, alias Mao, male, 29 years old, Khmer nationality, working as a plantation guard, residing in Phum Prek Ta Prohm, Kampong Os Commune, Ponhea Leu District, Kandal Province.


In front of the police, the suspect confessed that he tied up the victim with a nylon rope and gagged him so he couldn't scream for help. He said that he killed the boy because he was angry with him ever since they had an argument two months ago.
The suspect is currently being held at the Ponhea Leu District Police Inspectorate to build a case file.
