China's land reclamation in the South China Sea

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Any length of time and the grout turns color or goes black. I believe all those plants were flown in just to take pictures of to prove its their land.

Or maybe they are just super-clean.
There are also a lot of buildings.(Unless they are just cardboard fronts.LOL)

Never head of frefab buildings? Ship them in and they are up in a couple days. US military did it in WWII a lot. They called theirs quonset huts. Up in a day or so, lasts for decades. When I lived in Nome, Alaska people had made Quonset huts from WWII into houses and they were very comfortable.

I'd like to see how the Chinese on these islands are handling getting fresh water. Plants need lots of fresh water.

So far looks like a money drain on the Chinese as its not cheap to build all these things, but there is suppose to be oil under the islands and with companies like Walmart and non-enforcement of US import laws by our government, the US is sponsoring this military exercise.

The one thing I haven't seen anywhere is what about the Eco-systems they are destroying? Doubt of they did an environmental impact study/statement when they bulldozed the islands. I don't see Greenpeace circling those islands. Chinese would blow their ass's out of the water.

Yes!

Nation states are naturally hypocrites and jockeying for geo-political advantages with these micro-movements is what employs tens of thousands of analysts, specialists, think-tanks, career-government employees and politicians in each respective country.
US military policy has ideally been predicated on fighting a war against the rest of the world theoretically and this policy is reflected in her military expenditure. If there was a conflict with China, Japan and South Korea would execute compulsory pre-emptive maneuvers. Japan does not seem formidable in a numbers match up with China, but that’s intentional to keep in line with their anti-war constitution. For the last several decades Japan’s high tech military secret was its prefab/ lego like infrastructure that kept its military hardware numbers low in white papers. In the advent of military aggression they could put forward a formidable military presence in months like a lego set. For a while, it was like Israel’s nukes; you knew they had em but you weren’t supposed to openly talk about em. Hawks like Abe want a greater military role internationally. A militaristic Japan makes all her neighbors nervous, friends and foes.
After bushsr lost to mr Hillary, bush and baker showed up in south korea to “encourage” them to buy f-15s without the radar systems which pretty much makes them useless. Today domestic systems in the f-15ks would at least rival china’s air to air radar systems.
Has anyone been to Central America or Africa recently? It’s like going to Chinatown (hyperbole)! The Nicaraguan Canal; mining, construction, and damn projects in Kenya, Ethiopia, etc.; the Chinese are EVERYWHERE and they’re making geopolitical moves for the long haul.
But even after all that, I dare you to go and spend time with some Chinese soldiers. Their equipment is literally sh*t. I’ve seen enlisted who were ordered to march get on a bike, one guy took a taxi, and some took a bus to where they were supposed to drill. Okay that incident was years ago but I wouldn’t put my money on China in any military pissing contest (except the obvious nuclear stalemate). Economically, I don’t know…there are many others on the forum that are far more knowledgeable about international political economies.

One thing they have going for them is that their leaders are mostly engineers and scientists, whereas Murica is lead by slimy lawyer-types like Hillary and Nivag.

I think 'slimy' is too complimentary for Hillary, but perhaps you 'mis-spoke'.

anyone with a bit of sense can clearly see that that area is too far from China to be part of it. The Spratly islands are MUCH closer to P.I. The boldness with which they make this grab would indicate they fear NO one will stop them. This might have begun as a bluff, but it seems to me to be game over. Where to next? P.I. ? Who's goin to war with the country that supplies most of their needs over the P.I. ?
I hope these sick bastards crumble over their own weight soon. Lookin like the Japanese pre-WW II to me at least.
