Interesting and a little odd that the scammers would also be straight forward robbers. I mean, if you are up for committing violent robberies, why go through the time consuming trouble of scamming some people? I wonder if the fact that they are also robbers and are not committing crimes only against tourists but locals too, will make the police take a second look at the blackjack scammers working openly on the riverfront, in the parks, etc.

And what's this about English-speaking foreigners (Filipinos) pretending to be motodups at the airport and ribbing tourists? I hadn't heard that one before.
