Special tourism policy

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Special tourism policy

Post by BklynBoy »

“It will attract millionaire international tourists and elderly guests who can visit and stay in Cambodia for many years to invest in various sectors in Cambodia,” he said.

A typical traveller spends an average of $700 to $800 per trip to Cambodia and the “special tourists” described in the policy spend up to $3,000, Chantha said.
“Under the special tourism policy, foreign tourists can stay longer and those who are potential tourists can buy houses and buildings or run businesses in the country,” she added.

Missus friend just returned from Cambodia. He and his wife and family spent 3 months there and he spent 30k all by himself. The policy will be good for them.

Parties all over Cambodia. Beer from morning until night. Donating to disabled villagers. Or as he put it, 2/3 on charity, 1/3 on himself.

sheeit.. that is not believable. curious in a way how you found that info. was it casually discussed. his wife told your wife? guess doesn't matter but doesn't seem possible
you realize that the person is being taken advantage of correct? I suppose i sound ignorant not knowing specifics of this situation but from the info you provided it seems he is being taken advantage of. big time
