Police Seize Sidewalk Seafood
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Mr. Chea Pisey, Governor of Tuol Kork District, said on his personal Facebook page this morning, Thursday, September 1, 2022, that Tuol Kork district authorities confiscated 40 boxes of seafood that were unloaded on a public passageway on Street 598, next to the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
According to the district governor, at 4:00am on September 1, Mr. Chan Bandith, Deputy Governor of Tuol Kork district, led the district police to confiscate 40 cases of seafood packages and made a contract with the business owner not to sell seafood on public sidewalks.
The educational guidance contract with the seafood business owner contained the following contents:
- It is forbidden to display or sell other items that affect public order on Street 598, especially to drop or distribute seafood on the sidewalk next to the fence of the Royal University of Phnom Penh from September 2, 2022 onwards.
- If the businessmen do not cooperate or continue to display or drop off at the above location, the authorities will take legal action to confiscate all materials and seafood, which will be stored at the Tuol Kork district administration without taking responsibility for the loss and damage.
Finally, the business owner agreed and signed the education contract with the authorities.

Re: Police Seize Sidewalk Seafood
I was wondering what the problem was here - but yes, it might be that simple.

Re: Police Seize Sidewalk Seafood
I had a relative in the "security forces". When they raided restaurants selling bush meat they'd divvy it up at the station and we'd often get some snake or whatever for dinner. Great - rubber and bones soup.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Police Seize Sidewalk Seafood
I think that I replied to this already, maybe msg was deleted or little something something.
My honest opinion is that they should seize/ban all sidewalk seafood vendors for safety reasons.
If this gets deleted again, let me know so I don't waste my time.
