Drunken Policeman Terrifies Neighbors with Gunshots

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A male police officer was arrested after he shouted madly in front of a neighbor's house and then fired off two shots with his gun, at 9:30 pm on August 21, 2022, along the road in Phum Khtor, Sangkat Prek Leap, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh.
Suspect's name is Keo Sarath, male, 37 years old, Khmer, Occupation: Military, Position: Bodyguard.

Sources from the people living at the scene said that the gunman, who is a police officer, had been living near their house for more than a month, and has threatened them with guns several times for no reason, when he was drunk.

At the time of the incident, the police officer was driving a white Toyota Camry, with police license plate number 2-7013, when he stopped in front of his house, apparently drunk, and got out of the car. The man then took out two pistols and went to the neighbors' house. The people there rushed inside, and called the police after two shots were fired toward the house.

Currently, the police have arrested the man who claims to be the police, confiscated his car, and have taken him for questioning at the Prek Leap Sangkat Administrative Police Station.

There are still trying (and failing) to track down this asshole who shot his girlfriend in the face and killed her. 2 years, 6 months and counting...

I remember reading that, poor girl.
I'm not the smartest of people but maybe it would help if they wrote his name or picture of the person police are looking for, a common theme.

Weird, it says he's military and shows military ID cards, then it says he's a police officer and shows his car with police plates. I'm not aware that you can be both.

In separate paragraphs he’s referred to as Military, Police, and claims to be police. Bad reporting, or much more to this character to come. If he’s a bodyguard, is he in the same circles as the chap recently relieved of his position?

I can't tell from what's there. The top ID is Ministry of National Defense and the lower one is RCAF. Police are Ministry of Interior.

Given some of the stories and escapades, I would not be too surprised to hear that he’s been moonlighting with a friend’s credentials. No story too outlandish. A number of reports over the few years that Since I first arrived in Cambodia where some criminal enterprise has been thwarted, and there’s a cop or official deeply involved.
