One-way Airline tickets
Re: One-way Airline tickets
Those are not the options / classes VietJet uses, you were probably shown an extra service provided by the travel agency eDREAMS at a surcharge. They're masters at masking those services and lure you in.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 12:20 pm no, its a refundable ticket minus 20%
there are 3 options, if u bother to click thru as its a search which expires.
classic ; Non refundable, changeable (free up to $150) Modifications $35
Flexible; Non refundable, changeable mods free
Premium; refundable, changeable & mods free
For those looking for onward tickets from Bangkok, forget any (more or less) refundable ticket between Bangkok and Phnom Penh for less than 100$ (more realistically: >=150$). It's a market with only a few operators and relatively high prices and unfavorable conditions.

BUT as to few operators,
On Kayak i count 12 airlines do the flight
high prices ?? for 11-18
Bangkok-PP cheapest $44 < most expensive NON stop $102
thai airlines is only $94 refund fee is $80 LOL
and ONLY $97 PP=Phuket via bangkok

Not saying what's a good deal or not, just saying there's no such thing as a 50+$ refundable ticket on that route.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 5:04 pmahh ok: so the $14 charge is a good dealKammekor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 3:27 pmThose are not the options / classes VietJet uses, you were probably shown an extra service provided by the travel agency eDREAMS at a surcharge. Believe me, I know that route.
The low prices you quote are all excluding airport tax and other surcharges. Buy a ticket for just 11$, publish the receipt here, and you're king of the year. It's not going to happen. I know.
I'm sure there's 12 airlines doing the route on Kayak. Through Ho Chi Minh, through Kuala Lumpur, through Singapore, through Manila, through Hong Kong.... I'm talking about serious direct options for a 65 minutes flight. Not the insane one- or two stop options of Kayak.

Someone tell me if I’m ok with doing this. I arrive in Phnom Penh on November 11th, which I really am, and planning on a trip to Thailand anyway in February or March. If I purchase a RT ticket for March 2023 between PP-BKK, would that be considered an onward travel?

Only if it matches the validity of your current visaKenr wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:53 pm Someone tell me if I’m ok with doing this. If you don't have a visa yet, no, because you will be given a '1 month' initial visa and you ticket is beyond the validity of that visa.
Re: One-way Airline tickets
I’ve never been asked about an onward ticket before from Singapore or Eva, but then again I’ve always had a return ticket through them. Guess I’ll see what Singapore Airlines says when I get to the airport, if they say I need one at check-in I’ll just buy a cheap one at the airport.Kammekor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:55 pmOnly if it matches the validity of your current visaKenr wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:53 pm Someone tell me if I’m ok with doing this. Airport staff can be ignorant to the max, hard to predict their behavior. If I came to Cambodia with just a blank passport (no visa) on a one way ticket and no Cambodian wife or kid in tow I would take some precautions. The chances of things turning bad would be too large for me.Kenr wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 9:00 pmI’ve never been asked about an onward ticket before from Singapore or Eva, but then again I’ve always had a return ticket through them. It’ll be good either way. Not hurting for money, just hate wasting it on nothingKammekor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 9:05 pmAirport staff can be ignorant to the max, hard to predict their behavior. Re: One-way Airline tickets
I decided screw it. I was going to wait until at the airport, then use the onward travel if need be, but decided to just book Thai Air Asia to Bangkok through Expedia for $63. That onward travel was only good for 48 hours, unless you wanted to pay more for a 14-day confirmation, so I decided to pay the extra $ for a real ticket. Better to be safe than sorry I guess.
