One-way Airline tickets
Re: One-way Airline tickets
I recently flew on Nok Air from SGN (Vietnam) to DMK (Thailand) without a visa for Thailand (got 45-day VOA) and was asked for an onward ticket at check-in.
Had a reservation from the onward ticket website on my phone, which cost $14 and satisfied the staff.

There are a few similar sites about. How legitimate is it? If it’s just creating what appears to be a genuine ticket, but under careful scrutiny isn’t, I’m dubious. But then, I’ve never used it.
Different countries have varying visa requirements, and some of them are a complete pain in the arse. They’re arcane and archaic in many cases. But, the old adage- their trainset.
Personally, I won’t run the risk of cheating the visa system, as it could be crippling at a later date. I’ve had colleagues who were denied entry into other countries in the past, due to previous visa infractions. They were obliged to remain at immigration while the company unravelled the problem. It all comes down to how much you value relative freedom of travel over circumventing the rules and getting caught out, to a particular destination.

IF u had a visa no need for onward/return ticket
makes little sense to pay $40+ for Only 15 days more unless ur staying between 45 and 60 days
than add on 1,900 for another 30 days or convert to long stay extension.
one way DMK to PP runs $83 ( for next week) to $52 ( next month) on air asia

It's a non refundable ticket which can be changed if you pay the fare difference.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 10:40 amfyi; been doing some research on onward tickets for Thailand and found a cheap bangkok-pp ticket FULLY REFUNDABLEJamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 2:26 amyeah was just curious, for an extra $10 you can actually just buy a real flight to cambodia lolFreightdog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 1:07 amIt’s a site like this.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 12:49 amwhats this onward ticket site you speak of?sigmoid wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 12:41 am I recently flew on Nok Air from SGN (Vietnam) to DMK (Thailand) without a visa for Thailand (got 45-day VOA) and was asked for an onward ticket at check-in.

Re: One-way Airline tickets
The first time I flew into Phnom Penh this year, the check-in chick wasn't sure about the requirements and had to ask a colleague. I had a one-way ticket and no visa, told her I'll apply for a VoA. Her colleague was fine with that. I guess YMMV.
Now that I have an EoS, that actually seems to slow down the check-in process, as they have to make a note of it in their system apparently. No questions about onward tickets anymore though.

Re: One-way Airline tickets
I was flying New Zealand - Australia- China -kh .
NZ to OZ fine but then Australians were not allowing me on the next flight to China because they said i needed a visa during my 21 hour layover in China , I showed them the chinese gov Immigration page stating that a 24 transit visa ON ARRIVAL is avaiable but the staff were relucttant and said all people must have a visa before flight and wouldn´t allow me on the plane . , I got a bit annoyed and tried explaining to them "ON ARRIVAL" the clues in the name !
After speaking to the supervisor I was allowed on flight but , seriously !
