You don't need to make it up. The press is doing a good job of it themselves.

"WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
It's unknown if there were any political or financial motives behind Yashchyshyn's reported visits to Mar-a-Lago, though she has a history of being involved with apparent scams."

Let's just run with it anyway, the conspiracy theorists love this stuff.
As with so much from the MSM this quote is abundant ... "it's unknown" .... Followed by whatever tripe will garner clicks from the syncophants from both sides of the political spectrum .... That folks still unquestionably absorb the constant stream of speculation put forth as fact to satisfy original bias is astounding and the main reason there is such divisiveness in the world ....

You're not wrong, she 'could' just be another grifter bullshit artist trying to climb the social ladder and cash in somehow but let's face it, when you have an ex-president with a history of security breaches, who is known to love showing off and bragging and is very receptive to anyone who will indulge his vanity and at the same time happens to have information sitting in his office that any spy would cut a testicle off to get their hands on, and THEN you learn about the stereotypical 007 type character appearing on the scene ... well you can't blame anyone for being somewhat alarmed. If that's not a WTF situation I don't know what is.
Yes, exactly. This is the point.
The stage is set for something ridiculously stupid and what makes it so wonderfully newsworthy is that it is new.
No other moron could have pulled this off in such newsworthy fashion. Certainly no president.
I love how the "government is corrupt" crowd who first doubted they would find anything went to it was planted, to he declassified it when he took work home, to it can't be that serious, to now this.

Those moving goal posts are amazing, but yeah, lets blame the lame stream media

That's the media for you. They love to speculate, infer, insinuate and generally stir shit to get clicks on their website.
At the same time though, in a democracy their role, along with the opposition party/parties is to hold politicians accountable and make them answer the hard questions. They're obnoxious but they serve a purpose.

In this case, where Trump has been shown to be less than honest and trustworthy and his supporters would no doubt sweep this whole mess under the carpet if possible, and where there's cause for even more red flags to go up, I don't think it's unreasonable for the media to raise the issue and force it to be investigated.

I guess I'm a small demographic that remembers when the media reported the news and didn't create it according to a dialogue passed down from head office .... I can remember when the 'media' was held accountable ... And was not afforded credibility according to it's ideology or political affiliation ....
Oh well, obviously those day are passe ... And regurgitation of the bs of the day is ' de rigueur' ....

Blame the news, blame the Feds, blame the Justice Department, blame the Dems. It's everyone else who is wrong, it couldn't possibly be the cult leader. Build the wall! Lock her up! Check the laptop! :!:

The fact that you may not like the news doesn't mean the media is 'creating' the news.

Trump got caught doing highly illegal things. He's not even denying it anymore but when he was denying there was anything there, then when he was blaming the FBI for planting whatever it was they were about to find that wasn't there, then when said he'd already de-classified the documents the FBI had planted and took them home to work on over the weekend so it was ok, then when he said Obama did the same, then when he claimed the documents were actually his ... the media reported his side of the story. They didn't create the news, Trump did that. In fact, it was Trump who went to the media first, presumably because he wanted his side of the story out there.

If it looks damning for Trump, if every time he goes to the media and tries to BS his way out of it he gets himself deeper in the shit, if every new revelation that comes out makes his situation worse - that's not media bias and it's not the media making up things that haven't happened. It comes across as a brazen shit-show of illegality and contradictions in his story because that's exactly what it is.

Getting better every day. Now Trump is blaming the movers, who apparently inadvertently shipped the documents to his Florida home and that he was keeping them in a secure place for the NARA. Gotta blame someone I guess. (covering all his bases)

And for the record it was Trump, not the DOJ or the FBI, who first told the world about the government entering his home and seizing documents that didn’t belong to him and told only his side of the story, which of course keeps changing. He forced the DOJ to release the warrant and the affidavit, redacted of course as it should be until the proper time. Now he and his lawyers are moving the goal posts every time the government provides more information. So sad.

Exclusive
Material on foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities seized at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago
Some seized documents were so closely held, only the president, a Cabinet-level or near-Cabinet level official could authorize others to know
By Devlin Barrett and Carol D. Leonnig
Updated September 6, 2022 at 10:36 p.m. EDT|Published September 6, 2022 at 7:53 p.m. EDT

A document describing a foreign government’s military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, was found by FBI agents who searched former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and private club last month, according to people familiar with the matter, underscoring concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about classified material stashed in the Florida property.

Some of the seized documents detail top-secret U.S. operations so closely guarded that many senior national security officials are kept in the dark about them. Only the president, some members of his Cabinet or a near-Cabinet-level official could authorize other government officials to know details of these special-access programs, according to people familiar with the search, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive details of an ongoing investigation.

Documents about such highly classified operations require special clearances on a need-to-know basis, not just top-secret clearance. Some special-access programs can have as few as a couple dozen government personnel authorized to know of an operation’s existence. Records that deal with such programs are kept under lock and key, almost always in a secure compartmented information facility, with a designated control officer to keep careful tabs on their location.

But such documents were stored at Mar-a-Lago, with uncertain security, more than 18 months after Trump left the White House.

After months of trying, according to government court filings, the FBI has recovered more than 300 classified documents from Mar-a-Lago this year: 184 in a set of 15 boxes sent to the National Archives and Records Administration in January, 38 more handed over by a Trump lawyer to investigators in June, and more than 100 additional documents unearthed in a court-approved search on Aug. 8.

It was in this last batch of government secrets, the people familiar with the matter said, that the information about a foreign government’s nuclear-defense readiness was found. These people did not identify the foreign government in question, say where at Mar-a-Lago the document was found or offer additional details about one of the Justice Department’s most sensitive national security investigations.
