SQ Flight Lost Both Engines Yesterday
A Singapore A330 flew through a big storm, lost power in both engines, dropped 13,000', regained power, & they flew on to Shanghai rather than landing at HKG & having them checked out. LINK: onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/05/26/a-singapore-airlines-plane-lost-both-engines-and-kept-flying/

Re: SQ Flight Lost Both Engines Yesterday
After a brief visual check, both engines were subsequently found attached under the wings...

That seriously freaks the fuck out of me
Re: SQ Flight Lost Both Engines Yesterday
I've been knocking about a theory about some recent plane crash's and this engine "flame out" sure supports it. In years past airplanes would see violent storms on radar and fly around them. With the advent of high fuel prices, on time scedules and budget airlines, I believe the pilots are being pressured to fly through storms thus saving fuel. If the pilot says anything about it or doesn't follow company "unwritten" directives, he is found to be unfit for duty. (BTW/ My father was a pilot for Pan Am for over 30+ years, my cousin flies 747s and my brother works for a US airlines, so I grew up around the airlines.) Its just a theory, but its seems in recent years the airplanes I've been flying on (mostly long haul) sure seem to fly through a lot more turbulence than in years past.
