Point of order CEO News.
In Khmer language, we expats are barang, barang are foreigners.
In Khmer language, Chinese and Vietnamese are not barang.

Could we stop referring to Chinese criminals, Chinese car crashes, etc. as foreigners. It's wrong and misleading.

On the other hand, if we're doing it for click-bait, then carry on. As you were.

Anyone who are not a cambodian & staying in Cambodia are considered foreigner....what makes you think that only caucasians are considered foreigners??

Khmer language has an extensive vocabulary, and there are different ways to address a foreigner, all with a slightly different meaning.

Don't the words barang and farang specifically refer to Westerners/whites?

That may or may not be so, however, there's also the broader issue.. i.e. whether the perps mentioned in these news stories who happen to be non-Cambodian should all be lumped into the generic bucket and referred to as 'foreigners'. I think the suggestion is that it would be more accurate and meaningful if their specific nationality is mentioned.

He could be from the US and just not know any better. Over 2 million people cross the US border illegally each year and they are considered undocumented citizens. You can see how that would warp anyones senses of foreigner vs not foreigner.
