Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 27 July 2022 at 00:30, the Phnom Penh Municipal Criminal Police arrested 8 suspects at a cocktail shop on Veng Sreng Street, Sangkat Choam Chao, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
The suspects were involved in 6 robberies in the past.
The six robberies were:
Case 1: Robbing a black Honda C125 motorcycle (1JH6569) which fell due to the motorist not lifting the pedal of the motorcycle. The victim was chased by the robber and subdued with a belt, a machete, and a bamboo stick. The robbery was committed on a plot of land in , Chroy Ampil 1 village, Sangkat Kbal Koh, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, on 6 July 2022 at 02:30hrs.
Case 2: Robbing an Oppo mobile phone from a victim on Lot No. 3, National Road 3, Prey Kambot Village, Sangkat Choam Chao 2, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, on 19 July 2022 at 21:30hrs.
Case 3: Hijacking a red and white HONDA BEAT motorcycle (1AG6512) at KM27 near National Road 1, Dei Edth Commune, Kien Svay District, Kandal Province on 14 July 2022 at 05:15hrs.
Case 4: Robbing another OPPO mobile phone at Kampong Sing market, Kampong Sing commune, Preah Sdach district, Prey Veng province on 20 July 2022 at around 20:30hrs.
Case 5: Robbery of a black Honda C125 motorcycle, 2016 model, 2021 model year, with license plate Kampong Chhnang 1F6255, at Svay Ath Krom village, Prek Tamak commune, Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province, on 21 July 2022 at around 05:10 hrs.
Case 6: Hijacking a black Honda 125 motorcycle which was parked in front of a house on Street 369, Champouk Kaek 1 Village, Sangkat Prek Thmey, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, on 20 July 2022, at around 04:30hrs.


The 8 suspects detained were:
1. Khoy Phea, alias Ngol, a Construction Worker, resident of National Road No. 1, Sangkat Niroth, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.
2. An Davat, an Ice worker, resident along Road Lum, Pong Pou Village, Rong Damrey Commune, Ba Phnom District, Prey Veng Province.
3. Ny Chamnan, alias Nak, a Freight forwarder resident of a rental house along National Road 4, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
4. Noeun Thanu, alias Du, a Factory Worker, resident of Parade Guesthouse, Road Lum, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
5. Yot Mey, resident of Somnong 12, Road Lum, Sangkat Toek Laak 3, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.
6. Mon Ly, Living in a rented house on National Road 4, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
7. Ry Ouji, an ice worker, Living in a rented house along National Road 3, Kong Pisey Commune, Kong Pisey District, Kampong Speu Province.
8. Wen Saphatra, resident of Kdei Dong Village, Rong Damrey Commune, Ba Phnom District, Prey Veng Province.
Evidences seized include a 2022 white Honda Scope motorcycle (Prey Veng 1W3668), a 2018 black Honda C125 motorcycle (Prey Veng 1N 7215), a black Honda 125 motorcycle, (Kampong Chhnang 1F-6255).
Currently, the above suspects and the above exhibits are being processed by the specialized forces and will be sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further legal proceedings.
