Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 26 July 2022, Mr. Tith Chantha, Acting Minister of Tourism and Mr. Thong Edwin, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore met to discuss the need to increase flights between the two countries.

Tith Chantha, Cambodian Acting Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, told reporters after the meeting that as the 2023 SEA Games approaches, there will be more demand for travel to Cambodia, which means that the Royal Government needs to increase the number of foreign flights into Cambodia. One of the main airways for transporting tourists to Cambodia would be to increase flights with Singapore.

Mr. Tith Chantha said that at the same time as the SEA Games, Cambodia has announced 2023 as the year for Visit Cambodia 2023 to help boost the number of tourists throughout the country, and that Singapore's Changi International Airport will play an important role in transporting passengers and tourists to Cambodia, since Singapore is also a member of ASEAN and will also be particapting in the Games.
