US Adds Cambodia to Human Trafficking Blacklist

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

It's a real international embarrassment at this stage. The reputation of the country was never great but seemed to be improving until all this new organized crime involving shocking human rights violations dragged it back into the dirt. I can understand a desire for investment but this is very detrimental to the nation.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Putting them on the tier 3 might make them see the light as being on this list costs the government lots of $$ and that is one thing the Cambodians understand
It is insanely obvious. Was in SHV this past weekend and complexes like those called out in the video posted earlier are easy to spot.

It appears that this situation will have to grow worse and then get some awful media attention for it to change. It is too bad that the KOW will get labeled and stereotyped once again for negative things.

Look, let's not disrespect the administration of the KOW or the press in the KOW and be stupid amongst our Khmer friends and family. Most of on this forum are to some degree more than compassionate and at peace with the KOW, if not apologists for anything KOW related because they are our chosen people and we have chosen to love them for better or worse and they have come through for us and we cannot turn our backs on them- ever.

So, with that being said, this China Project thing has me puzzled, the Khmer Times reported on it here: https://www.khmertimeskh.com/tag/the-china-project/ and BBC/CNN ran with the story when.....?? It appears to me that no big news outlet ran with it.... ever!

This brings up a larger issue; that since the advent of the Covid 19 Pandemic, humanitarian issues and also vitally important ecological issues have been neglected and they have yet to get back onto center stage. What the hell is going on? Take your pick of this wide google search please;https://www.google.com/search?q=media+c ... e&ie=UTF-8
I am definitely not imagining this. This has been sublimated and denied far too long. No one seems to give a shit about Yemen or all those third worldly places and the crap shooter keeps on firing. Let's be polite and avoid griping about Cambodia too much as many of us have years to come there and we don't want it sullied by some sophomoric comments on this board.
Do you all see what I have been seeing? Things just get shuffled under the rug now..?!!
I mean a story like the China Project alone ( to break with my own advisement) not getting picked up? What the F#@$ is wrong with the international journo squad? Ok, sure the FCC has been closed for renovations far too long but Phnom Penh used to be crawling with journos looking to break a story like that?!! Where did they go? Why are they silent now? Covid? The Yemen starvation story..?!! Come on, something else must be at play now.
