Boris Johnson has agreed to resign, but wants to stay on as PM until new Tory leader elected by autumn
Boris Johnson has agreed to resign, the BBC’s Chris Mason reports. He says he wants a new Tory leader to be in place by the party conference. He wants to stay on as PM until then.

Re: Boris to resign as party leader
Only lasted exactly 1 month after his no confidence "victory".

He has been pronounced dead at the scene before, but I really think he went to far this time. Habitual lier that can never change.Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 3:31 pm Only lasted exactly 1 month after his no confidence "victory".

The last of the Ottomans
Re: Boris to resign as party leader
This has been brewing the last 2 days, since he was exposed for lying - again - this time over pretending not to know about a renowned gay sex pest's groping history when appointing him to a sensitive job as a deputy whip in charge of pastoral care of new MPs. His name is Chris Pincher. You couldn't make this up.
Apparently Johnson will want to stay on until a new leader is elected but the word is his colleagues will not accept that - he is being ousted because nobody trust him at all, not for another day, and certainly not for 2 months.
Dominic Raab is Deputy Prime Minister and is the obvious choice of caretaker PM, but that will rule him out from running for the leadership, so he may decline.
If the Tories have any sense they should go on bended knee and ask Theresa May do step up for a couple of months while the leadership election runs it's course. She knows the job, is trusted and well known by all the top officials and is not in the running for the job.

You know it's bad when you see people online openly wishing for the Maybot to be recomissionedDoc67 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 5:18 pm

I’m ignorant of these matters )probably no surprise). Why can’t Raab run if he steps up temporarily?
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

What are we going to do without our Boris Entertainment News? He was good for a laugh a day on average. Partygate was brilliant.
(Better laugh than cry.)
