The level of investigation that goes into these kinds of cases is world leading. Whoever would have thought that the cause of death of a body found floating in a river would be drowning?

Seriously though, do these cases ever get investigated beyond ticking a box under 'Cause of death' that says 'drowning'?

RIP to the victim.

Sad but true. As far as I can see/read from local news; if there are no obviously suspect bruises or broken bones, then a floating corpse is presumed to be an accident or suicide by drowning.

Elementary my dear xandreu! There was no bullet hole in the skull, and no bruising on the rest of the body, so therefore . . .

As to the question of whether it was drowning by suicide or drowning by murder, that's not quite so clear.
