Not sure of the wisdom of asking a mostly-barang forum, you could just ask some Asians. Just an idea.
Op already stated "Where i live, most asians don't think. Or at least not in a way that is meaningful to modern society" so how can they give a meaningful answer? It makes perfect sesne to ask the barang in these circumstances

Having just read the entire thread up till here, which I hadn't before, the op said nothing of the sort. That was another poster. Unless you know him to be a sock of course?
I think the Op asked an interesting question, but framed it badly.
Even so, a prescient post considering the last few months here with the anti US and EU rhetoric being churned out in the local media.
My guess is the op was thinking about all the input from media etc they've been subjected to over the years on how Europeans/ Americans/ Australians etc stereotype Asians, and perhaps was wondering what the visa versa view was.

I was a little surprised at being labelled the op but figired it could be shorthand for " other poster" just as easily as " original poster.".
No big deal imo. HOWEVER. I do believe in the universal need for a sarcasm font to help avoid some small misunderstandings, here and throughout the interweb.

I'm curious whether the anit-american rhetoric by the government will negatively effect attitudes against westerners. That'd to say, is it still safe for me to travel to Cambodia? I'm planning to visit the Kingdom in April.

Yeah, I have heard Indian men expressing the same views. Though they mostly get that by watching American plastic tit porn. They also generally think that all western women are ' easy' or prostitutes because they often have sex before marriage. Not sure that applies here though.

Depends if you are American

Some Khmer got a bit upset about the refugee deal with Australia, and some are not happy about USA deporting Khmer, but I don't think they blame citizens of those countries, The Cambodian government is not going to bother you unless you are a high profile political "activist" or do something stupid like flying drones and attending political rallies
